A missing 16-year-old who was last seen in Heaton, has now been located, Northumbria Police have confirmed.

The teenager was thought to be missing since 1.20pm on Saturday afternoon. Police officers released an image in their attempt to locate her on Saturday evening.

However, she now been found safe, police have confirmed.

A statement from Northumbria Police read: "Further to our appeal from earlier today, we are pleased to confirm that Nmeh has now been found safe."

The force advises having specific information ready when you call 101 about a missing person, including where you saw them, the date and time of when you saw them, and a description of what they were wearing. You can also report a sighting and seek help and advice at Missing People.
