Police appeal after report of 'person in water in Menai Strait'

A person may have gone into the waters of the Menai Strait last night. A search was carried out and no-one was found but police have appealed for information.

Officers posted on the North Wales Police Facebook page: "Last night at around 11pm we received a call from a concerned member of the public that a person may have entered the waters of the Menai Straits. A search was conducted by Coastguard and Officers attended the scene.

"No-one was located during the Coastguard search, so we are asking the public for any information to identify the individual concerned. Officers are continuing to conduct enquiries this morning to try and identify if anyone did enter the water or not."
