Police appeal after Solihull biker, 21, killed outside school
The victim of a fatal motorbike crash outside a Solihull school was a 21-year-old man, West Midlands Police confirmed today. The rider was in collision with a van in Castle Bromwich yesterday.
Emergency services had responded to the crash on Water Orton Road, at around 2.10pm on Thursday, November 28. Despite the best efforts of bystanders and paramedics, he died at the scene near Park Hall Academy.
Police said in a statement today: "A man has sadly died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a van in Castle Bromwich. We were called to Water Orton Road, at around 2.10pm yesterday (Thurs) after the rider of a motorbike was seriously injured following a collision with a van.

"The man, aged 21, sadly died at the scene. We’re supporting the man’s family during this very difficult time as we try to establish exactly what happened. We’re appealing for witnesses and anyone who may have seen anything that could help our investigation to come forward. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to discover one patient, a man, in a critical condition. He was already receiving basic life support from bystanders before ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.
“However, despite everyone’s best efforts it sadly became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
