Police appeal for witnesses after man in 60s seriously injured in crash near Hornchurch Tesco

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian in his 60s was left seriously injured following a crash in east London.

Police were called around 2.20pm on Tuesday (October 8) to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle, near to Tesco on Airfield Way, Hornchurch.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended.

A man aged in his 60s was found with serious injuries. He was taken to hospital where he remained on Friday, receiving treatment.

“The man’s next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specially trained officers,” said a Met spokesperson.

“The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting police with enquiries.”

No arrests have been made.

The Serious Collision Investigation Unit are asking anyone with dash cam footage, or who witnessed the incident, to make contact via 020 8597 4874 or 101 quoting CAD 4342/08OCT.
