Update (20/3): A woman involved in the car crash with Ant McPartlin has recalled her "anger" towards the TV presenter.
Shilpa Vanoo, her husband Faheem and their 4-year-old daughter Amaira were caught up in the incident on Sunday afternoon (March 18) when the family's Mini was involved in a head-on collision with Ant's vehicle.
"I was so angry with him I lost my cool and tried to run up to him and smash his face," she told The Sun. "I had to be held back.
"I had been sitting in the back seat and didn't realise it then but my face had hit a headrest and my lip was bleeding. The horn of his car was blaring and my little girl was crying in shock. It was a terrible, chaotic scene.
"It was a little while later before I realised it was Ant."
Yesterday, it was revealed that Ant is returning to rehab following his arrest on suspicion of drink driving, leading to Saturday Night Takeaway not airing this weekend, with The Voice UK taking the 7pm slot on Saturday (March 24).
Original story (18/3): Ant McPartlin has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a crash this afternoon (March 18).
The TV presenter was allegedly arrested at 4pm after his Mini collided with two other cars in London.
The Sun reports that McPartlin had been in the car with his mum Christine and their dogs when the accident happened.
According to The Sun, Scotland Yard said: "Police were called to Lower Richmond Road at 15:59 hours following reports of a road traffic collision involving three vehicles. A number of individuals were treated at the scene for minor injuries only.
"A child passenger from one of the cars has been taken to hospital for a check-up as a precaution.
"A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink-driving after failing a roadside breathalyser test."
Digital Spy reached out to McPartlin's reps, who have declined to comment at this time.
McPartlin – who presents Saturday Night Takeaway, Britain's Got Talent and I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! with his presenting partner Declan Donnelly – has been open about his recent struggles with addiction to prescription painkillers.
He is due to be taking part in a SM:TV reunion with Dec and Cat Deeley soon – but it's now looking like it'll be a 21st anniversary reunion rather than 20th due to the trio's busy work schedules.
