Police Break Up Poker Tournament in Breach of Coronavirus Lockdown

Lancashire Police said they broke up a poker tournament in Blackburn on the evening of March 6, handing out fines totalling £20,800 to those in attendance.

A total of 26 fixed-penalty notices were issued to those gathered, in breach of the UK’s coronavirus lockdown. The gathering took place in a room above a bar in the town, according to police.

Sgt Steve Dundon said: “This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable and not only potentially puts lives in danger, it also risks extending the lockdown yet further.” Credit: Lancashire Police via Storyful
