Police bust cannabis factory in former town centre takeaway
Police unearthed a cannabis factory after swooping a former town centre takeaway. Now the man living above the one-time Crewe business - Gledis Mousaku - has been jailed.
Cops, 'acting on information', executed a warrant at the property which consisted after shut down takeaway on the ground floor and a flat above. Mousaku, aged 24, was living above the empty takeaway and was looking after the 95 cannabis plants found by officers.
The force also uncovered lighting and 'lighting and other equipment needed to grow cannabis.' The defendant, of Edleston Road, Crewe, admitted producing cannabis - but denied he had modified the flat and its electricity supply.

The defendant appeared at Chester Crown Court where he pleaded guilty to the production of cannabis. Mousaku was sentenced to six months in prison and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £154.
Neighbourhood officers say efforts are continuing to tackle cannabis production and drug misuse in the town. PC Justin Taylor said: "We understand the impact illegal drugs have on our community and will stop at nothing to disrupt the supply.
“I hope this latest result reassures you that we do listen and do take action. It’s vital we all work together to make Crewe too difficult for criminals to ply their trade."
