Police called to break-in at East Kilbride supermarket

Police were called to a break-in at an East Kilbride supermarket in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at Morrisons on MacNeish Way just after 3am, with officers still in attendance as the first customers arrived at the store during Wednesday morning’s rush hour.

One shopper told how police tape was in place outside the store at the cafe area.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 3.15am on Wednesday, October 2, officers received a report of a break-in at a premises on MacNeish Way, East Kilbride.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

Morrisons say they are assisting the police with their enquiries.
