Police called to Westminster Bridge as protestor balances on ledge 20ft above Thames

One of London’s major bridges has reportedly been closed as a man protests on a ledge 20ft above the River Thames.

Bystanders tweeted pictures of the protestor on Westminster Bridge surrounded by members of the emergency services.

One said the bridge was closed to pedestrians as officers talked to the man, who held a banner saying: ‘Respect the vote’.
