Police Car Goes Airborne Across Intersection Before Crashing in High-Speed Pursuit

A vehicle driven by a sheriff’s deputy during a high-speed chase went airborne while crossing a San Bernadino intersection on March 1 before reportedly crashing into a parked truck.

Californian Dana Gomez captured footage of the incident, involving a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department SUV, while on a taco run with some friends.

According to local media, the deputy’s vehicle slammed into an unoccupied truck after becoming airborne during the pursuit.

Gomez said she and her friends were “all shocked” when they saw the vehicle launch into the air and land in a flurry of sparks, as captured in this video. Local news reports said the deputy was uninjured in the crash.

“He got out of the car and he was fine,” Gomez said. “It was like a film!” Credit: Dana Gomez via Storyful
