The moment high-speed police chase was stopped by family of DUCKS

A police chase in Portland, Oregon, came to an abrupt halt when a family of ducks got in the way of a speeding traffic officer.

Police in Portland had their pursuit of a speeding motorist foiled - when a cute family of ducklings wandered into the road.

Traffic officers clocked a car at 52mph in a 35mph zone in Oregon, and set off in hot pursuit.


But their high-speed chase was bought to an abrupt halt when a mother duck and several ducklings appeared in front of them.

Traffic officer Mark James was forced to stop in the middle of the road as the speedster got away, in order to usher to birds to safety.

It is not know if Portland Police managed to eventually apprehend the motorist.

Perhaps more importantly though, no ducks were harmed in the making of the Oregon force's online video.
