Police chase ends outside Merry Hill shopping centre after stolen car crashes into railings

A man was arrested after a police chase in the Black Country. The driver crashed and fled the vehicle outside Merry Hill shopping centre.

Police said the car was stolen from a church and was used in criminality. It was then pursued by officers until it was involved in a collision.

The driver crashed, decamped from the vehicle and fled into Merry Hill shopping centre. A suspect was later arrested with inquiries ongoing.

WMP Traffic posted on X: "This car was stolen from a church & then used in other offences. #ANPRInterceptors began a pursuit with it & were then assisted by the #RoadCrimeTeam. The driver crashed & decamped into Merry Hill before being arrested where we found he was also already wanted for other matters.
