Police have made three arrests after a pursuit led to a North Staffordshire road being closed for hours. Officers were alerted after a Kia Ceed was stolen from Brown Edge this morning (November 26).

The car was then spotted 13 miles away. A police chase then came to an end in Leycett Lane, Madeley Heath, at 12.30pm this afternoon where traffic monitoring site Inrix reported there had been a crash close to Leycett Cricket Club.

Paramedics were called to the scene where a man was treated for injuries not believed to be serious. He was then taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital. Leycett Lane reopened around three hours later.
