Police Close Queensland's Gold Coast Beaches After Crowds Ignore Social Distancing Rules

Gold Coast City Council announced it would be closing multiple beaches after large crowds were seen gathering on the first weekend of April.

Surfers Paradise, The Spit, Coolangatta & Greenmount were all to be shut at midnight April 7, with police to enforce the closure, according to reports.

In a video posted to Twitter by Jesse Greyson, crowds of people are seen walking and gathering on the Gold Coast’s Miami Beach. “Here’s how we ‘isolate’ on the Gold Coast,” Greyson posted to Twitter.
