Police close road outside primary school after motorbike crash
A main road was closed outside a primary school after a crash. Merseyside Police responded to a crash on Woodchurch Road this afternoon, which involved a motorbike and a car.
Police were called at around 2.10pm on Tuesday, September 24 to reports a motorbike had crashed with a car directly outside St Joseph's RC Primary School on Woodchurch Road in Prenton. The motorbike rider, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital with a leg injury, which is not believed to be serious, police said.
A spokesperson for the school issued a statement to parents following the incident, warning them of the road closure. They said: "Please be aware that there has been a traffic incident on Woodchurch Road, directly opposite the school. This is unrelated to any children or staff.

"Woodchurch Road is currently partially closed, with traffic being diverted down Gorsfield Road. Please take care when arriving, and as far as possible, avoid the area. Please can you circulate to anyone's collection. Thank you." The road has since been reopened.
