Police cordon off section of Hamilton town centre following 'medical emergency'

A section of Hamilton town centre has been cordoned off by police following a medical emergency.

Police are standing guard outside the Price Kings shop near the Top Cross area of the South Lanarkshire town with an ambulance on scene at Brandon Street.

Police said the area has been sealed off due to crowds gathering.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Scottish Ambulance Service is dealing with a medical matter in Brandon Street, Hamilton. Police are only there to assist with the crowd that is gathering."

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 10.18am to attend an incident at the Top Cross in Hamilton. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene.”
