Police cordon after pedestrian hit by car in Nottinghamshire town
A pedestrian has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg after being hit by a car in a Nottinghamshire town. Emergency services were called to the collision in Newthorpe Common, Eastwood, at around 3.30pm on Wednesday, January 15.
Nottinghamshire Police, who taped off the road on arrival, said a female was taken to hospital after being struck by a Vauxhall Mokka near the junction with Grey Street. They said her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
No arrests have been made in connection with the incident. A force spokesperson said: "There was a collision involving a car and a female pedestrian. She has been taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg."
Concerned residents took to social media on Wednesday afternoon questioning why there was a heavy police presence. One user posted a photo of a section of the street being cordoned off by officers.
