Police cordon in place after concern for welfare incident in Bristol

Emergency services were called to a concern for welfare incident, involving a man, in Bristol this evening (Monday, June 3). Police, fire crews and paramedics rushed to the scene in Kingsdown at around 6.30pm.

At the time of writing (8.15pm), Dove Street remains closed and access to Kings Square Park is limited. Avon and Somerset Police have urged people to avoid the area.

Pictures from the scene show emergency services in attendance. A cordon is in place at Kings Square Park as the incident is dealt with.

Avon and Somerset Police said: "Officers are in attendance at Kings Square Park, off Dove Street, in Bristol, this evening (Monday 3 June) to deal with a concern for welfare incident, involving a man.

"We’re asking people to avoid the area for the time being. Dove Street is closed and access to Kings Square Park is also limited."

Avon Fire and Rescue Service added: "We are currently in attendance at an incident in Kingsdown.

"Dove Street is currently closed, and access to Kings Square is limited. Please avoid the area, we will update further when we are able."
