Police descend on North Staffordshire street in 'firearm' alert

Police were scrambled to a North Staffordshire street after reports of a 'firearm'. They were dispatched to Britannia Street, in Leek.

But no firearm was found and no action was taken against the property owner targeted by police. The drama unfolded at 7pm on Thursday, June 20.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "We received a call to reports of someone being in possession of a suspected firearm on Britannia Street. A firearm or weapon wasn’t found at the property. The owner was compliant with officers. Officers left the address and no further action was taken."
