Police have made a number of arrests after vandals ripped flowers out of town centre planters. The planters had already been targeted at Longton Exchange Shopping Centre after police captured the culprits and the two boys were made to re-plant them.

But just a day later the planters were targeted again by different vandals. Now police have made the arrests in early-morning swoops.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "Those responsible for recently causing criminal damage at Longton Exchange, including targeting and damaging all the flower planters, have been given an early-morning wake-up call and taken into custody."
