Police flood Hanley in crime blitz to woo back shoppers
Police have flooded Hanley in a crackdown on crime and anti-social behaviour. Staffordshire Police have positioned a mobile police station near the blue clock as part of today's day of action.
It comes as shoppers have complained about feeling unsafe in Hanley. Other issues include rough sleepers and fly-tipping.
Chief Superintendent Elliott Sharrard-Williams, who leads policing in Stoke-on-Trent, said: “I am pleased we are continuing the momentum in tackling anti-social behaviour and related criminality in Hanley. Only by working together with partners across the city will we be able to deliver long-term solutions to the concerns raised to us by those who live, work and visit Stoke-on-Trent. I look forward to hearing from the public, so we can continue to tackle key community priorities, taking robust action against anyone causing harm.”
