Police update on four vehicle crash that shut Gwynedd road for hours

Two people were taken to hospital after a four vehicle crash that closed a road for hours. The smash took place late yesterday afternoon on the A497 at Llanystumdwy between Criccieth and Pwllheli.

It saw the road closed for several hours as emergency services dealt with the incident. Police have now said one person suffered serious injuries in the crash.

They have asked anyone with information to come forward.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday, November 28 , we were notified of a four vehicle road traffic collision on the A497 at Llanystumdwy, Criccieth.

"The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident.

"Two people were taken to hospital, with one person sustaining serious injuries.

"Anyone with information in relation to the incident is asked to contact police via the website, or by calling 101, quoting reference Q179287."
