Police hunt after man injured in stabbing on busy Essex high street

A teenager has been hospitalised after being stabbed on a busy road on the Essex border. Police were called to High Road in Ilford at around 5:25pm on Saturday (November 16) to reports of a stabbing.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service. The boy, aged 17, was found with injuries when responders arrived at the scene.

The man was taken to hospital and the Met Police awaits an update on his condition. Officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the incident with no arrests made.

A spokesperson for Scotland Yard said: "Police were called around 17.25hrs on Saturday, 16 November to Ilford High Road to reports of a man stabbed. Officers attended the scene along with the London Ambulance Service.

"An 17-year-old man was discovered with injuries. He has been taken to hospital. We await an update on his condition.

"Enquiries continue to establish the circumstances of the incident, including where it took place. There has been no arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5522/16NOV."
