Police hunt man who pushed woman down stairs at Overground station and punched her in face

British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man who officers believe can help with their investigation into the incident where a woman was pushed down the stairs at  Leytonstone High Road Overground station

Detectives investigating a shocking attack at an Overground station have released a CCTV image of a man officers want to identify and speak to. A woman was walking down a stairwell with her bike at Leytonstone High Road Overground station when she was approached and pushed.

Then horrifically, as she got outside the station the same man punched her in the face, causing her to fall to the ground. This attack happened at about 8.30pm on Sunday, June 2.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesperson said: "Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that could help their investigation." In the image circulated the man is pictured looking into the camera wearing a grey beanie hat, with a dark jacket and a large brown bag over his shoulder.
