Police hunt two men carrying fuel can after car deliberately set on fire in Cumbernauld street

Police Scotland detectives are hunting two men seen carrying a fuel can after a car was deliberately set on fire in Cumbernauld.

Around 9.45pm on Saturday, September, 28, a car was wilfully set on fire on Hornbeam Road in the town. The fire was extinguished and there were no reports of any injuries.

Detectives are keen to trace two men seen in the area at the time carrying a fuel can.

Detective Constable David Williamson said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with information to contact us.

“We also ask anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”
