Police in Denver, Colorado, investigated a homicide after a shooting took place in the courtyard of the Denver Art Museum where two groups of demonstrators clashed on October 10.
Footage shows the two groups, identified by local news as pro-police and anti-police demonstrators, facing off outside the museum.
According to the Denver Post, the man shot was part of a pro-police ‘Patriot Rally,’ who “sprayed mace at another man. That man then shot the other individual with a handgun near the courtyard outside the Denver Art Museum.”
Other footage uploaded to Twitter shows a man being detained by police.
A private security guard, hired by 9NEWS Denver was being held as a suspect in the deadly shooting, according to a tweet from the news outlet.
The Denver Police wrote: “Further investigation has determined the suspect is a private security guard with no affiliation with Antifa. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.” Credit: @kellyindependent via Storyful
