Police investigating assault in Newcastle city centre bar after man left with broken ankle

Officers investigating a report of assault in Newcastle city centre have released an image of a man they wish to trace as they.

Police received a report that at 2am on Sunday, July 28, a male victim in his 40s, was approached by another man in Grey's Club, on Grey Street.

The offender then threw the victim to the ground, causing him to break his ankle, before punching him in the face then making off from the scene. A number of enquiries have been carried out by Northumbria Police since the report was first made.

And today (Monday), officers have released an image of a man they wish to speak to as part of their investigation. He was in the area at the time the assault is reported to have taken place and officers believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
