Police investigating after man in his 30s 'stabbed' in Coventry

Police are investigating after a man in his 30s was 'stabbed' in Coventry. It happened at the junction of Sunningdale Avenue and Holbrook Lane yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, November 27).

Officers were dispatched to the scene of the incident at around 4pm. Paramedics also attended and found that a man had sustained serious injuries.

He sustained knife wounds to his hands and was rushed to hospital, West Midlands Police said. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing.

Officers have urged people with information about what happened in the lead-up to the incident to get in touch with them by calling 101. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers.

In a statement to CoventryLive, West Midlands Police said: “We were called after a man in his 30s was assaulted on Holbrook Lane in Coventry near the junction of Sunningdale Avenue yesterday (November 27).

“He suffered knife wounds to his hands and was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing. Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via Live Chat or call 101, quoting 20/982474/24.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to reports of a stabbing near the junction of Sunningdale Avenue and Holbrook Lane at 3.55pm yesterday (November 27). We discovered one patient, a man, and he was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to hospital.”
