Police issue appeal as man disappears and car is found

Police are appealing for help in their search for a man who has been missing overnight. James Watson, from Brockweir, Gloucestershire, was last seen on Friday at around 11.15pm in the Shirenewton area of Monmouthshire.

A statement from Gwent Police said that his car, a grey Skoda Karoq, had been found near the Woodcroft village in Gloucestershire and added that inquiries wee being carried out in the area. A force spokesman said: "We would like to appeal to anyone in that area, particularly those out walking, to contact us if you think you may have seen him."

The 75-year-old is described as being around 6ft 2in tall and of slim build with reddish/grey short hair. He is likely to be wearing a V-neck jumper and jeans. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Gwent Police on 101 or send them a direct message on social media quoting log reference 140 of July 6.
