Police issue new appeal after second person dies following A2 Cobham crash

A second person has died following a crash on the A2 at Cobham. Kent Police was called at 4.14pm on Friday, May 31, 2024 to the coastbound carriageway.

There had been a collision involving a lorry and a van. Two lorries were parked on the hard shoulder, when for unknown reasons a white Mercedes Sprinter van collided with one of the lorries.

The driver of the lorry received minor injuries, however the driver of the van, a 50-year-old man died at the scene. The passenger, a 20-year-old man received serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance.

He died on Tuesday, June 4. The next of kin for both victims have been informed.
