Police issue CCTV in hunt for multiple 'hit-and-run' drivers who left woman, 29, dead in Tulse Hill

Police today issued CCTV of a lorry and a car they wish to trace that they believe were involved in a suspected multiple hit-and-run in which a woman died.

A 29-year-old woman from Wandsworth was hit by a lorry as she crossed a road in south London while the traffic lights were green.

She was then struck by another lorry and two cars, and officers said none of the drivers stopped at the scene.

Two of the drivers have come forward to police but officers have now released images of two vehicles they wish to trace as part of their investigation.

The CCTV shows a white lorry - believed to be the second vehicle involved in the collision - and a black car which is thought to be the third.

The 49-year-old man who was driving the first lorry to hit the victim in Tulse Hill on Monday morning has since been traced and interviewed under caution, the Metropolitan Police said.

The 52-year-old driver of the second car has been released under investigation following his arrest on Tuesday evening on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The victim is believed to originally be from Poland and formal identification will take place on Friday when her family fly to the UK.

A post-mortem examination revealed her provisional cause of death to be from multiple injuries.

Acting Detective Sergeant Alastair Middleton said: "We are grateful for all those witnesses who have come forward, but we continue to appeal for anyone who was passing and witnessed the collision and the moments afterwards to contact us immediately.

"Inquiries are continuing to trace the two outstanding vehicles involved. A number of actions, including the recovery of local CCTV footage are in hand. I would urge the two drivers we are yet to trace, come forward and speak with my team."
