Police issue update on hand grenade found in Yorkshire home
Police have issued an update on a hand grenade found in a Yorkshire home.
West Yorkshire Police were called to a home on Hillside Close in Addingham, Ilkley, at 3.51pm yesterday (Friday, November 22). An old hand grenade had been discovered during a clear out.
The emergency services rushed to the scene and a cordon was put in place. A number of other homes were also evacuated as a precaution.

The force has said the grenade was not live and the cordon was lifted at 6.30pm. Police thanked residents for their co-operation.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Army bomb disposal experts confirmed an old hand grenade found during a clear out of a property in Addingham, Ilkley, yesterday was not live.
"A cordon was put in place around the address in Hillside Close and nearby residents evacuated as a precaution after police were contacted at 3.51pm.
"The cordon was lifted shortly before 6.30pm when the all-clear was given. We thank residents for their patience and understanding while the incident was brought to a safe conclusion."
