Police issue Sherwood dispersal order due to 'repeated' shoplifting and begging
Police have put a dispersal order in place in a Nottingham suburb after "repeated issues" with begging and drug-related shop lifting. The 48-hour order, issued at 3pm on Thursday, January 30, covers a section of Mansfield Road and surrounding streets in the Sherwood and Carrington area.
It includes the entirety of Sherwood's high street, which has shops such as Heron Foods, Co-op Food and a host of independent businesses. Lidl and Co-op Food in Carrington are also covered.
The order means police officers and police community support officers (PCSOs) have the power to instruct an individual to leave the area for two days, otherwise they can be arrested.

Nottinghamshire Police's Sherwood team said in a post on Facebook: "This dispersal order was authorised due to ongoing reports from the public, so we urge you to please contact us if there are any people causing ASB so they can be dealt with promptly."
