Police have addressed rumours a man "approached a young child" while they were outside playing. North Wales Police said they were aware of reports circulating on social media "of an alleged incident which took place in the Connah’s Quay area".

The post suggested a man had approached a young child who was outside playing. The force said they had not received any reports about such an incident.

Sergeant David Smith said: “We have not received any reports of any incidents of this nature in the Connah’s Quay or surrounding areas and would encourage the person who published the post to make contact with us. I would also encourage anyone with concerns to contact police at the earliest opportunity, before sharing anything to social media, so that action can be taken where necessary.”
