Police issue warning to Coventry off-road bikers and vow to 'keep up the pressure'
Police have issued a warning as they vow to 'keep up the pressure' on off-road bikers in Coventry. Officers were out in the city on Saturday (October 5).
Officers from the Road Harm Prevention Team (RHPT) hit the city streets in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour and drug dealing in Willenhall. Cops were also targeting those involved in 'nuisance' off-road biking.
It involved carrying out high-visibility patrols using off-road bikes as well as spot checks of vehicles, West Midlands Police said. Officers recovered a cloned Mercedes and a stolen moped was also seized.

West Midlands Police said the reintroduction of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in Coventry means they can take earlier action against people involved in illegal off-road biking. Residents have also been urged to report incidents to Coventry City Council.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We are keeping up the pressure on off-road bikes in Coventry with a successful operation in the city. We know how much of a nuisance off-road bikes can cause when they are ridden illegally and are continuing our regular warrants and operations to catch them.
“We rely on information from the public to tell us where and when the bikes are being ridden, as well as the places where they are stored. It helps us build an intelligence picture to help with our planning. If you see dangerous and illegal riding of off-road bikes in Coventry, let us know via 101 or Live Chat.”
