Police launch appeal after man is seriously assaulted in Hamilton

Police are appealing for information after a 38-year-old man was seriously assaulted in Hamilton.

The incident happened around 9.10pm on Wednesday, September 11, when he was assaulted by a man on Ann Street.

The man made off in the direction of Burnbank Centre.

The 38-year-old man was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as wearing a light blue hooded top, is around 170cms tall and of slim build.

Detective Constable Christine McLanachan said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone that can help with our investigation to come forward.

“If you were in the Ann Street area on Wednesday evening and saw or heard anything suspicious, please contact us.”

Those with information can speak to officers by calling 101 and quoting incident number 3822 of 11 September. Alternatively, you can make an anonymous report to the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
