Police launch murder probe after man is stabbed to death near beauty spot in leafy town

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man was found stabbed to death near a beauty spot in a leafy town.

Officers were called after the victim was discovered on Lady Lane, in Earlswood, Solihull, West Mids., at around 6.40pm on Tuesday (29/11).

Paramedics were called to the scene - near Earlswood Lakes reservoirs - but nothing could be done to save the man, who was aged in his 40s.

Detectives have launched a manhunt for the knifeman following the attack, which took place near The Red Lion pub along a country lane.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We've launched a murder investigation after a man was found fatally stabbed in Solihull.

"We were called to the junction of Braggs Farm Lane at Lady Lane just before 6.45am yesterday (29 November).

"A man in his 40s was found with serious injuries and sadly nothing could be done to save him.

"We're carrying out extensive enquiries to establish exactly what happened and why.

"We're supporting the man's family during this deeply distressing time.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.39am on Tuesday to an incident at the junction of Lady Lane and Braggs Farm Lane.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and a critical care paramedic attended the scene.

"Upon arrival we found a man. Unfortunately, it became clear that nothing could be

done to save him and he was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
