Police lock down Glasgow park after two men spotted with knives

Police locked down part of a Glasgow park last night after two men were spotted with knives.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to Queen Park in the southside of the city at around 7pm on Saturday, September 21 after reports of the males with blades.

A section near to Victoria Road was cordoned off as cops investigated. Police said the men were not found, however inquiries are ongoing. There were no reports of any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.05pm on Saturday, 21 September, 2024, we were called to a report of two males with knives in Queens Park, Glasgow.

Officers attended and carried out a search of the area however there was no trace of the males. There were no reports of injuries and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.”
