Police looking for man in relation to Sunderland bicycle theft

A man police are looking to speak to in relation to a bicycle theft in Sunderland

Police have released an image of a man in relation to an investigation into the theft of a bike in Sunderland.

The theft was reported to police on Friday, July 12, alleging that a bike had been taken from Trimdon Street. It was reported that the victim attended JD Gym and left their bike locked to a lamp post outside.

A man is alleged to have approached the bike and damaged the lock, before stealing it along with the victim's helmet. The bike is a grey Trek FX2.

On Monday, Northumbria police officers issued an image of a man who they are looking to speak to in relation to the report. They say he was in the area at the time of the theft and officers believe he may have information which could assist their investigation.

Northumbria Police have encouraged the man, or anyone who recognises him, to contact them by sending a direct message on social media, using the live chat on the force website, or by going to the crime report page on the website; using crime reference number 081345D/24.
