Police provide update after man died after being hit by car while walking dog
Police have provided an update after a man tragically died while walking his dog after being hit by a car.
The incident happened at around 4.40pm on Friday, December 2 along Westgate in Guisborough.
Craig Dixon, aged 39, was walking with his dog when he and his pet were struck by a silver Citroen C3 which was travelling along Westgate.
A 38-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Several members of the public attended to Mr Dixon until the ambulance service arrived.
But their efforts were in vain and Mr Dixon was pronounced deceased shortly afterwards at hospital. Mr Dixon’s dog, Duchess, has also died from her injuries.
The 38-year-old man who was arrested was interviewed by police and has now been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
