Police manhunt underway after teen left fighting for their life in Nottingham stabbing

A police manhunt is underway after a teenager was left fighting for their life following a city centre stabbing. The victim was rushed to hospital after they were stabbed in the chest in High Street, near Old Market Square, at 4am on Sunday morning (November 17).

Police say the victim remains in a critical condition. No arrests have been made in connection with the attack and a police search is underway.

Witnesses have been asked to forward come forward and police are working to gather evidence in the city centre. Cheapside, between Old Market Square and the Lace Market tram stops, has been cordoned off and trams are currently unable to pass through the area.

Chief Inspector Iain Blackstock, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This assault left a young person in hospital with a stab wound to his chest. Our investigation is still at an early stage and we are working hard to establish exactly what happened.

“We are working in the area to gather evidence and would also like to speak to any witnesses who have yet to come forward. If you saw this attack or anything at all suspicion in the moments before and after we would like to hear from you.”
