Police today named a teenager stabbed to death in south-east London as they questioned a woman on suspicion of murder.

Levi Earnest-Morrison, 17, was found collapsed on the ground with a stab wound in Sydenham at around 7.20pm on Saturday.

Police, paramedics and London’s air ambulance were called to the scene at the junction of Hazel Grove and Sydenham Road, however Levi was pronounced dead shortly after 8pm.

His family are being supported by specialist officers, police said, as they released a picture of him. A post-mortem examination on Monday gave his preliminary cause of death as a stab wound leading to catastrophic bleed.

A 35-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder was in custody today.

Detective Chief Inspector Mick Norman, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the area on Saturday evening to come forward.”

Levi is the tenth teenager to be fatally stabbed in London this year. The Met have now launched 32 homicide investigations in 2020.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old boy is fighting for life following a stabbing last night in Green Lanes. He was treated at the scene in Grand Parade for a wound to his stomach at 9pm, before being taken to hospital.

Officers chased a suspect, described as a black male, of slim build and dressed all in black.

Anyone who witnessed Levi’s killing should call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
