Police: Night Shift 999 viewers see police arrest 'Mr Incredible' in Cheltenham

Viewers of hit Channel 5 show Police: Night Shift 999 saw Gloucestershire officers tasked with transporting 'Mr Incredible' to the police station in the episode on Wednesday (November 6). Officers PC Bailey and PC Evans are called to Cheltenham town centre where a a 'drunk and disorderly male' is causing a commotion on a summer night.

Taking stock of the situation in the High Street near the Premier Inn, PC Bailey remarks, "He's not very happy, is he?" with PC Evans agreeing and suggesting they take a closer look. There's humour as PC Evans realises the 'identity' of the troubled individual, exclaiming: "They've arrested Mr Incredible! "

Referring to the man's attire, marked with the iconic symbol from the popular Pixar movie, PC Bailey quips to the camera, "It said it on his T-shirt......And he wasn't incredible at all! ".

As the action continues, the Gloucestershire police officers assist in escorting the man into their custody van while learning more about his antics. The arresting officer reports the man's disruptive behaviour, involving kicking off at others and his peculiar attempt to touch someone's face, prompting PC Bailey to dryly comment, "I don't know what he's had."

Responding to the situation the officer said: "Well, he's been arrested for drunk and disorderly! ......I might jump in the back [of the van]." PC Bailey added with a cheeky tone: "Yeah....you jump in the back with him, you'll enjoy that!"

In a more serious moment, speaking directly to the camera, PC Bailey detailed the protocol for handling intoxicated detainees: "They can do all sorts of things in the back of the van in their drunken state, so we always have at least two officers in the van and one officer will be watching welfare for the prisoner."

The entire episode aired on Channel 5 at 9pm on Wednesday and will be available via catch up services. Police: Night Shift 999 is a production by Crackit Productions.
