A Queensland police officer was targeted and hit by a stolen car driven by three Redcliffe peninsula men on the evening of Friday, October 6, causing the officer fractures to his leg.

It is believed three men from Deception Bay, Redcliffe and Margate stole a white Audi from Windsor early on October 5.

Police said: "At about 10:30 pm at the intersection of Wynnum and Junction roads, police attempted to intercept an allegedly stolen white Audi wagon using a tyre deflation device.

“It will be further alleged the driver of the vehicle changed lanes and drove towards one of the police officers, hitting the officer before colliding with a power pole.”

This footage shows officers running to assist their colleague.

One of the men will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on October 9, charged with attempted murder, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, fail to stop and two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. The two remaining men will be in Brisbane court on Saturday morning, October 6. Credit: Queensland Police via Storyful
