Police Officer Rescues Dog From River in Jamestown, New York

A Jamestown police officer rescued a dog from water near the city’s riverwalk on Saturday, May 7.

Video filmed by local Devon Estus shows Officer Jakki Martin-Ahlbin stepping out of the river and then climbing up rocks whilst carrying the dog in one arm.

“Great job by Officer Ahlbin!! We are proud to have a department made up of such wonderful people” a Jamestown Police Department Facebook post read.

In November 2021, Officer Ahlbin was credited with saving the life of an 11-day-old baby reported unresponsive and not breathing. At the time, the Department wrote in a Facebook post that Ahlbin’s actions "speak volumes on her personal character and dedication to service.” Credit: Devon Estus via Storyful
