Police Officer Stops Wrong-Way Driver on Highway in Ohio

A Blue Ash Police Department officer stopped a wrong-way driver on a highway in Montgomery, Ohio, on May 31, earning a commendation of courage from his department.

Footage shared via a press release by the City of Blue Ash, Ohio, shows Sgt. Mike Jackson’s dashcam footage as he drives on Interstate 71 and stops in front of the wrong-way driver.

Sgt. Jackson was awarded the Meritorious Police Service Commendation for Courage, according to the press release, which “recognizes an act of bravery intelligently performed involving personal risk to life or for another life-saving act.” The driver, who had already caused a crash as well as several other near-misses, was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
