Police officers were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a college building. Merseyside Police confirmed the car was an unmarked police vehicle which crashed into a City of Liverpool College building at around 3.40pm on Saturday, November 16.

The crash involved a Kia Sportage which crashed into the college's building on Cornwallis Street and Grenville Street South in the city centre. The two officers, both men, in the car were taken to hospital to be checked over.

A spokesperson for the force said an investigation into the crash remains ongoing. A cordon was in place and photographs shared with the ECHO showed the car having gone through the wall. The car sustained damage to its front end and left a hole in the wall, with bricks and rubble piled up nearby.
