Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to a flipped car on the M6 - triggering huge rush-hour delays. Emergency services had been called out to the northbound stretch between junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent South and junction 16 for Stoke-on-Trent North at around 6.40am this morning.

The collision saw traffic 'temporarily held' while there were also lane closures in operation. It also resulted in long delays on the southbound side with the incident also having an impact on the A500.

Traffic cameras from the scene showed long delays in both directions - as well as a car on its roof. Now West Midlands Ambulance Service has confirmed a woman was hurt in the crash.

A spokeswoman said: "We were called at 6.39am to a road traffic collision on the M6 between junctions 15 and 16. One ambulance attended the scene. Upon arrival we found a woman who was assessed and had sustained minor injuries. She received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene.”
