Police Perform Controlled Explosion in Liverpool's Sefton Park

Police carried out a “controlled explosion” in Sefton Park on Monday, November 15, as investigations into Sunday’s blast at Liverpool Women’s Hospital continued.

Footage filmed by Liverpool resident Greg Ollerton shows police on the scene. The video shows smoke rising following a shout of “fire” and a loud noise.

Police confirmed the explosion was carried out as a precaution, according to local reports.

Counter-terror police said “significant items” were found in a property linked to the suspect they believe built a device that detonated outside the hospital on Sunday, Liverpool Echo reported.
