Police have shut down a trouble-plagued property after fed-up families had been left putting up with 'drug dealing and criminal activity'. It comes after neighbours on Nantwich's Davenport Avenue were able to provide 'sufficient evidence' to help cops gain the order.

Now officers covering the neighbourhood hope the action will encourage other residents to work with the force. After the evidence was put to magistrates a three-month closure order was granted in what has resulted in the windows and doors being shut and the occupant ordered to leave.

Cheshire Police say concerns had been raised over drug activity - including use and dealing - at the address along with anti-social behaviour, 'public order offences', and criminal activity.

PC Thomas Jennings has welcomed the order dished out at Crewe Magistrates' Court - which means anyone who enters the shutdown property in the coming three months faces being arrested.

PC Jennings said: "We are dedicated to keeping this neighbourhood and its residents safe, so securing this closure with their help is fantastic news and I hope it encourages others to work with us to make their communities safer for everyone. I want to urge anyone with concerns about anti-social behaviour or other criminality in their community to please contact local officers and we will do everything we can to address these issues and achieve justice.”
